Some notebooks I designed for my college courses.
Paint, magazine clippings, stickers.
Printmaking Notebook
This class taught me how to hand-print using multiple techniques. The notebook is covered in animal prints and bold repeating patterns, for obvious reasons.
Game Theory Notebook
This class was about using statistics to predict behavior, be it that of warring countries or animals choosing mates. Here I made an obvious reference to chess and gambling.
The Commons and the Market Notebook
This class interrogated how humans divide and distribute commonly held natural resources. So, for this notebook, I divided images of nature with harsh white lines.
Philosophy of Language Notebook
This class focused on the mechanisms and underlying meaning of language. On this notebook I played with words, sentences, and even made rhyming connections between visuals, as with the “flan” and “swans” on the front.
